About Sofia:

Unresolved trauma can leave us feeling confused, disconnected and disempowered. Mindful Indigo was created to empower individuals in seeking growth through healing. My mission is to support clients in achieving wholeness by boosting mindfulness, embracing vulnerability and imperfection, responding to challenging emotions, healing attachment wounds, and integrating traumatic experiences. I sincerely believe in our capacity to transform trauma into post-traumatic growth. In addition to supporting clients’ unique goals, I strive to foster each individual's sense of unconditional self-love and authenticity.

I graduated with my Master of Social Work (MSW) in 2018. My post-graduate experience includes private practice therapy and school social work. I am also a faculty member at a local university where I teach social work courses at the graduate and undergraduate level, including courses in clinical mental health and trauma-informed care. Additionally, I supervise MSW students completing their internships at universities within Colorado.

My Approach:

I utilize an empowering integrative approach and assess client needs holistically by considering stressors, thought patterns and interpersonal conflicts in combination with past trauma and development. I encourage clients to engage in self-exploration, nurture their inner child, practice mindfulness, and improve mind-body-soul connection. My goal is to support clients in accepting both their light and shadow, to achieve wholeness, trauma integration and self-actualization.

My areas of specialty include treating clients with trauma, complex trauma, PTSD, anxiety, attachment wounds and codependency. Additionally, I work with clients struggling with depression, ADHD, substance use, mood disorders, grief and loss, family conflict, life transitions and women’s issues. I’m trained in trauma treatment as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level II: Complex Trauma and have extensive experience working with teens and adults.

Sharing our deepest struggles can feel vulnerable and uncomfortable. It's also where our best work is accomplished. I encourage you to lean into that discomfort and explore your shadow. I'm here to offer encouragement, validation and unconditional empathy alongside evidence-based treatment and effective coping strategies.

Personal Life:

I have tremendous gratitude for the rich and diverse life experiences that continue to shape my soul. I was born in Seattle and raised in upstate New York with my bilingual family from Argentina. I grew up exploring the Pacific Northwest beaches of Seattle, drinking yerba mate in Buenos Aires, and skiing in the Adirondacks. After college, I spent a few years living on the Hawaiian island of O’ahu, which taught me a deep appreciation for our Earth and the importance of new experiences. The seasons and access to outdoor sports brought me to the colorful state of Colorado. On the weekends, you’ll find me spending time in the mountains doing my favorite mindfulness activities, including hiking, skiing, dirt biking, and adventuring with my pups Honey and Mochi.
